Bottom of the Pyramid organizations are the ones that develop a set of capabilities that contribute to create short- and long-term sustainability values inside and outside the boundaries of BoP ecosystems. Capabilities have an important role in BoP organizations’ strategies that aim to solve BoP issues. Notwithstanding its developments, BoP research still lacks theoretical contributions for the analysis of organizations. We suggest special attention to the need of advancing knowledge on capabilities of BoP organizations because this field is scattered and (...) fragmented, misinterpreted, and still underdeveloped in the literature. We oriented our research formulating and seeking answers to our main question on what are the capabilities needed to enable organizations to create sustainability values in BoP ecosystems? We conducted an integrative review of BoP research for the period from 1998 to 2019, and we found 22 key capabilities of BoP organizations. We organized the capabilities into four major categories including BoP Responsible Consumption, BoP Responsible Business Model, BoP Responsible Management, and BoP Responsible Innovation. We advanced propositions and discussions regarding the capabilities and major categories’ popularity, interdependence and combination, short- and long-term temporal functions, sustainability roles, and effectiveness to address BoP issues. Our article organizes the field of capabilities of BoP organizations; advances contributions and implications for management, organizations, and policymaking; and opens fruitful avenues for future research. A proposição deste trabalho é relatar uma vivência de reflexão filosófica, em específico na perspectiva de um olhar sobre o trabalho com textos, em particular nas séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, na escola campo Centro de Ensino Fundamental 06 de Sobradinho-DF.

The development of educational technologies is enhancing a distinctive feature of learning environments: the learner’s personalized environment. However, the current literature in e-learning seems to neglect an important discussion: will individuals and organizations face an enhancement concerning ethical dilemmas due to this evolution? To promote this discussion, this paper builds on a consideration of e-learning definition and its ethical dilemmas, and human-centred learning concept and its dimensions, to examine the implications of integrating social and cultural contexts. By examining the evolution (...) of e-learning management systems the argument progresses to a discussion of the relationships between pedagogy and ethics. By framing evidence at different scales, the authors critically reflect on the ethical dilemmas embedded in e-learning systems. The discussion concludes with advocating the adoption of an extension of “three P” mode of pedagogy to become the “P3E” model: personalization, participation, productivity, lecturer’s ethics, learner’s ethics, and organizational ethics. When we reason about strategic games, implicitly we need to reason about arbitrary strategy profiles and how players can improve from each profile. This structure is exponential in the number of players. Hence it is natural to look for subclasses of succinct games for which we can reason directly by interpreting formulas on the (succinct) game description rather than on the associated improvement structure. Priority separable games are one of such subclasses: payoffs are specified for pairwise interactions, and from these, (...) payoffs are computed for strategy profiles. We show that equilibria in such games can be described in Monadic Least Fixed Point Logic (MLFP). We then extend the description to games over arbitrarily many players, but using the monadic least fixed point extension of existential second order logic. (shrink)

Neste trabalho apresentamos os resultados de uma pesquisa desenvolvida por uma aluna de graduação durante a realização de seu estágio docência. O objetivo da pesquisa foi investigar a relação entre trabalho e ensino de matemática em uma escola do campo na região sudeste do estado do Pará, na região norte do Brasil. A metodologia utilizada foi de inspiração etnográfica e os dados foram registrados no caderno de campo da pesquisadora. Também constitui material de análise as produções dos alunos e as (...) observações realizadas em sala de aula. Ao longo do texto apresentamos o contexto de realização da pesquisa, listando, de maneira breve, as principais características do curso de graduação no qual a pesquisadora está matriculada, bem como o contexto geográfico da comunidade onde está localizada a escola no qual a pesquisa foi realizada. Em seguida apresentamos nossa compreensão de duas noções centrais para nossa análise: conhecimento e trabalho. A primeira é tomada de um referencial teórico produzido no interior da Educação Matemática brasileira, conhecido como Modelo dos Campos Semânticos e a segunda é assumida em consonância com um referencial teórico marxista. Após o referencial teórico apresentamos a metodologia da pesquisa, destacando de modo geral as atividades que foram realizadas no estágio docência que se configurou como locus da produção dos dados da pesquisa. Nas análises, apresentamos as compreensões elaboradas pela pesquisadora a partir da articulação do referencial teórico com as atividades desenvolvidas durante o estágio. Colocamos em evidência que a compreensão de trabalho apresentada pelos alunos da escola investigada leva em consideração apenas o aspecto financeiro de algumas atividades realizadas por eles em seu dia a dia. Essa compreensão é colocada em contraste com a definição de trabalho apresentada pelos referenciais teóricos adotados. Por fim, tecemos algumas considerações sobre o uso de categorias tomadas da vida cotidiana nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem de Matemática. Apontamos que essa perspectiva teórica abre a possibilidade de uma ação didática que coloca em evidência a não centralidade da Matemática nos processos de produção de conhecimento, bem como viabiliza a utilização de outras categorias no processo de produção de conhecimento de modo não hierárquico em relação à ciência ocidental. IntroductionElements mark the reality of reading the female body in symbolic constructions and social symbols in the exercise of their reproductive health. The study aims to identify elements that characterize the female condition while analyzing the reproductive health of Brazilian and French women.Materials and MethodsA qualitative, multicenter, international study was conducted in Brazil and in France between 2016 and 2019. Data were produced through the use of semi-structured scripts. Focus group discussions and individual interviews were conducted with women who gave (...) birth, hetero-female couples who lived the experience of gestation and birth of a baby, and professionals of maternal and childcare services or members of the associations concerned with the health of mothers and babies. It was guided by the theoretical-methodological framework of institutional analysis in line with the French Institutional Socioclinics.ResultsSexual and reproductive health in the realities researched in Brazil and France are sometimes close and sometimes far apart. In what involves the Brazilian health system, abortion is criminalized and often performed illegally. Furthermore, pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period are highly medicalized. In addition, childbirth is not assured as an experience for a woman and her family. This aspect is confirmed by high numbers of cesarean sections performed or by maternal and infant mortality indicators. The French health system prioritizes vaginal deliveries and seems to assure more autonomy to women, but at the same time, it is worn out by the logic of profit, the efficiency of actions, and the rationalization of practices. In association with these, there are other intrinsic elements in the functioning of the institution that delineates the format of each country: notion of women's rights, violence against women, and discussion regarding the oppression markers of race, gender, sexuality, and social class.ConclusionsBoth countries reveal aspects related to the social role of women's bodies. The established logic reflects in the decision to have children, motherhood, women's autonomy over their own bodies, and in the core values linked to the termination of pregnancy and the professional practices developed in prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum. Este estudo objetivou refletir sobre o contexto da pós-graduação à luz dos argumentos que compõem a obra sociedade do cansaço, de Byung-Chul Han. Nas duas categorias de análise desenvolvidas, que relacionaram as vivências e as reflexões dos autores no âmbito da pós-graduação com os pressupostos de Han, ponderou-se que diversos aspectos inerentes desse cenário contribuem para ocasionar prejuízos à saúde biopsicossocial daqueles que o constituem. São exemplos a violência neuronal, o excesso de positividade, e o status, que confluem para transformar (...) os discentes em animal laborans e configurar sua habitação no território da pós-graduação como em uma sociedade do cansaço, em que não há espaço para uma vida contemplativa. Dessa forma, sinaliza-se a necessidade de reflexões que almejem preservar a saúde mental desses sujeitos como prioridade no planejamento de ensino, pesquisa e gestão, de maneira transversal. Este artigo aborda os processos de celebrização envolvidos na passagem de jovens comuns da periferia de São Paulo a ídolos locais e até nacionais, como intérpretes do funk ostentação. A via principal desta alçada: a postagem de seus videoclipes na plataforma Youtube. Veremos como os MC´s, autores e intérpretes deste estilo recentemente se tornaram atores sociais em suas comunidades, contribuindo para que as representações que carregam sejam símbolos ou mercadorias e atuem como instrumentos de materialização dos imaginários. Ao final, apontamos (...) para os sentidos ambíguos e contraditórios de resistência possíveis esboçados por este gênero musical e suas estéticas e valores, em bioresistências que passam pelos corpos e afetos. Esta análise objetiva entender se existe reconhecimento às conjugalidades/parentalidades LGBTQIA+ pelo conceito de família da Política Nacional de Assistência Social e se há subsídios satisfatórios para abonar proteção estatal as genealogias e/ou pessoas LGBTQIA+ por meio dos benefícios, serviços, planos, programas e projetos da Norma Operacional Básica de 2005. Com a análise documental da referida legislação, evidenciou-se que o conceito de família ainda não superou o modelo patriarcal, inserido no sistema capitalista de minimalismo das políticas públicas.

Trata-se de uma introdução interpretativa ao primeiro livro filosófico publicado por Simone de Beauvoir, Pirro e Cinéias (1944), que inaugura, segundo ela, após a eclosão da Segunda Guerra Mundial, o período moral de sua carreira literária e seu interesse particular em atribuir um conteúdo material à moral existencialista – junto de um livro publicado posteriormente, Por uma moral da ambiguidade (1947). Destaca-se, portanto, que Beauvoir é a autora que vai superar as oposições que separavam a natureza da cultura, o (...) corpo do espírito, a liberdade da facticidade, a subjetividade da objetividade, o individual do coletivo, o particular do universal, de tal forma que sua alternativa será, no ensaio aqui estudado, pensar como as liberdades separadas entre si se reconhecem mutuamente para que o movimento ontológico de uma em direção à outra possibilite uma investigação do vínculo fundamental e indissociável entre os extremos mencionados. Com efeito, nossa conclusão é que Pirro e Cinéias anuncia duas das ideias centrais que esclarecem o período moral da literatura beauvoiriana, que é a individualidade de cada situação vivida, tal como as situações de suas personagens literárias, e o movimento das liberdades situadas em sua própria dimensão: a dimensão humana. In this essay, I discuss three readings of Descartes’ Meditations. According to the first reading, “I exist” is for Descartes the foundation of our knowledge. This reading is dismissed on the grounds that, in his view, as long as God’s existence is not proven there is a good reason to doubt this proposition. Proponents of the second reading claim that there are two kinds of Cartesian knowledge: perfect and imperfect knowledge. The meditator has imperfect knowledge of “I exist” before God’s (...) existence is proven. Subsequently, she acquires perfect knowledge of various metaphysical theorems. This reading is repudiated, too. I argue for a third reading, according to which “I think” – and not “I exist” – is the foundation of our knowledge. (shrink)

Resumo Este artigo examina um período muito breve da juventude de Nietsche, de seu nascimento a 1862. Durante estes anos Nietzsche descobre progressivamente que o mundo encantado ao interno do qual ele nascera, protegido e seguro, não é imune ao mal e às doenças. Neste estudo examina-se todas as doenças que Nietzsche viu entrar em casa, através do pai, dos parentes e dos amigos. Antes mesmo que sua biografia registrasse patologias que ele carregará consigo até o fim, Nietzsche encontrará as (...) feições do mal nas formas históricas que a sua época registrou deixando marcas indeléveis no seu imaginário.This article examines a very short period of Nietzsche's youth, from his birth to 1862. During these years, Nietzsche gradually discovered that the enchanted world in which he was born, protected and safe, was not immune to evil and disease. This study examines all the diseases that Nietzsche has experienced inside the house, through his father, relatives and friends. Even before his biography recorded pathologies that he would remember ever after, Nietzsche met the face of evil in the historical knowledge that his time recorded leaving indelible traces in his imagination. Twenty years before Suárez’s Metaphysicae disputationes, Pedro da Fonseca offered one of the most impressive modern attempts to reorder Aristotle’s Metaphysics. In the present chapter, I will endeavour to show how insightful Fonseca’s effort truly was, by dealing with his ousiology. I will focus especially on the Jesuit’s account of three pivotal concepts in the scholastic theory of substance, i.e. Divine Substance, created substance and prime substance, or supposit. These notions are primarily metaphysical, but — according to a long-standing scholastic (...) framework — are also deeply indebted to Patristic Trinitarianism. As I shall argue, this is especially true for Fonseca, who welcomes and defends the idea of a conceptual unity between ontology, ousiology and Trinitarism he received from a centuries-long tradition. A naturalização das mortes, a possibilidade do médico escolher quem irá para um leito com respirador após a análise de um protocolo e a postura negacionista do Presidente da República mostram que os requisitos da banalização do mal, conceito criado por Hannah Arendt, estão presentes. A ética da solidariedade precisa ser relembrada, especialmente quando a sociedade contribui no aumento do contágio quando se aglomera ou pleiteia (...) o inexistente direito de não usar a máscara. Wie ist es möglich, durch das Nachdenken über die notwendigen Bedingungen der Erfahrung und des Weltbezugs zu validen Aussagen über eine Welt zu gelangen, die unabhängig von erfahrenden Subjekten existiert? Die vorliegende Studie entwickelt dieses Problem der objektiven Geltung ausgehend von der zeitgenössischen Debatte um transzendentale Argumente. Sie gewinnt so einen systematischen Zugang zu zwei paradigmatischen Entwürfen des nachkantischen Idealismus: Hegels Phänomenologie des Geistes und Fichtes Wissenschaftslehre 1804-II. Im Zuge einer detailgenauen, auf systematische Fragen fokussierten Rekonstruktion beider Werke zeigt der (...) Autor, dass Hegel und Fichte das Problem objektiver Geltung jeweils unterschiedlich durch eine philosophische Therapie auflösen, welche die Form eines Aufstiegs zum absoluten Wissen hat. Die Studie präsentiert eine neuartige Lesart von Hegels Phänomenologie, die ihr Bezüge zur Methode geometrischer Konstruktion nachweist, sowie von Fichtes WL 1804, die die Rolle des Begrifflichen neu bestimmt. Systematisch entwickelt sie ein skeptisches ‚revenge problem‘: Der Idealismus ist mit einer internen Spannung von Objektivitätsanspruch und Skepsis behaftet, welche den transzendentalen Ansatz zur Steigerung seines Reflexionsniveaus auffordert. The creation of a civil code in the Peoples Republic of China has been underway for quite some time. Debates have arisen within this process, one of which relates to the manner in which personality rights should be included in the codification. The issue of whether a general personality right for legal entities should be included in the civil code has proven especially controversial. This work on the personality right under private law in the People s Republic of China focuses (...) on the current and possible future scope of the protection offered under the personality right. On the one hand, the extent of protection in personal terms, namely the question of who is considered to be a holder of personality rights, is examined. In dieser Untersuchung wird die Instandhaltung technischer Artefakte, neben deren Schaffung und Nutzung die dritte grundlegende Form technischen Handelns, als Teilthema der Technikphilosophie systematisch und umfassend analysiert. Nur durch Instandhaltung können die unermeßlichen und vielfältigen mittels technischer Verfahren erzeugten Werte vor vorzeitigem Verfall und Untergang bewahrt werden. Die Studie erschließt Instandhaltung in phänomenologischer (Grundlagen) und normativer Hinsicht (Instandhaltung und Gesellschaft). Die auf Unumkehrbarkeit des Handelns und ganz allgemein des Geschehens gegründete Endlichkeit seiner Dauer bindet das individuelle technische Artefakt als wesentliches (...) Neuroenhancement involves the use of neurotechnologies to improve cognitive, affective or behavioural functioning, where these are not judged to be clinically impaired. Questions about enhancement have become one of the key topics of neuroethics over the past decade. The current study draws on in-depth public engagement activities in ten European countries giving a bottom-up perspective on the ethics and desirability of enhancement. This informed the design of an online contrastive vignette experiment that was administered to representative samples of 1000 respondents (...) in the ten countries and the United States. The experiment investigated how the gender of the protagonist, his or her level of performance, the efficacy of the enhancer and the mode of enhancement affected support for neuroenhancement in both educational and employment contexts. Of these, higher efficacy and lower performance were found to increase willingness to support enhancement. A series of commonly articulated claims about the individual and societal dimensions of neuroenhancement were derived from the public engagement activities. Underlying these claims, multivariate analysis identified two social values. The Societal/Protective highlights counter normative consequences and opposes the use enhancers. The Individual/Proactionary highlights opportunities and supports use. For most respondents these values are not mutually exclusive. This suggests that for many neuroenhancement is viewed simultaneously as a source of both promise and concern. (shrink)

In this article, some issues related to learning difficulties are addressed based on the question: how does the field of psychopedagogy conceive learning difficulties and what strategies does it propose to reduce them? With the study, we sought to understand how the field of psychopedagogy can contribute to reducing the learning difficulties of children who attend the initial years of basic education. To this end, a qualitative and descriptive study was carried out, with a bibliographic review. It was made a (...) bibliographic review on this field’s current knowledge on several electronic platforms. The focus was on the productions found in the CAPES Catalog of Theses and Dissertations and in the Journal of the Brazilian Psychopedagogy Association. Despite presenting relevant productions, it was not identified any text that answered the question raised, which made it necessary to expand the search for books in the area. Two works were then selected, which comprised the materiality of the research. From some selected excerpts, it was possible to understand and conceptualize what learning is and to identify the main difficulties faced by children in the early years. The most frequent ones are those related to reading and writing. Finally, we reflected on the feasibility of helping children in the learning process, through interventions aimed at children’s specific learning difficulties, providing them with better development both in school activities and beyond. Among the main themes introduced by the Ficinian renovatio platonica, love and beauty are certainly ones of the most outstanding and philosophically relevant for the metaphysical, cosmological and anthropological doctrines they convey. Pupil and recognised successor of Marsilio Ficino, Francesco Cattani da Diacceto is the author of an organic and complex philosophy of love and his contribution is extremely significant amid De amore Renaissance treatises. Cattani’s attitude is twofold and ambiguous: he heavily depends on Pico and on his Commento sopra (...) una canzona de amore, however, he also shows his disapproval to Pico’s positions by quoting and commenting negatively large portions of his texts − always keeping the lid on Pico’s name. In addition to doctrinal dissent there seems to be a certain resentment: maybe it is the attempt to throw Pico’s figure and cultural legacy into the shade and to display himself as the only and worthy successor of Ficino; certainly it is the will to defend his master from Pico’s harsh criticism, a defence that became more compelling with the publication of the Commento in 1519, which probably inspired Cattani’s last and unfinished work, the In Platonis Symposium enarratio. Appellate Court Modifications Extraction consists of, given an Appellate Court decision, identifying the proposed modifications by the upper Court of the lower Court judge’s decision. In this work, we propose a system to extract Appellate Court Modifications for Portuguese. Information extraction for legal texts has been previously addressed using different techniques and for several languages. Our proposal differs from previous work in two ways: our corpus is composed of Brazilian Appellate Court decisions, in which we look for a set of (...) modifications provided by the Court; and to automatically extract the modifications, we use a traditional Machine Learning approach and a Deep Learning approach, both as alternative solutions and as a combined solution. We tackle the Appellate Court Modifications Extraction task, experimenting with a wide variety of methods. In order to train and evaluate the system, we have built the KauaneJunior corpus, using public data disclosed by the Appellate State Court of Rio de Janeiro jurisprudence database. Our best method, which is a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory network combined with Conditional Random Fields, obtained an \ score of 94.79%. (shrink)

The Question of Truth in Pedro da Fonseca: the Problem of the simplex apprehensio and the Foundation of Logical Identities. This article deals with the theory of truth in Pedro da Fonseca (1528-1599) as it is presented in his commentary on Aristotle’s Metaphysics (1577-1612). The first part of the paper is dedicated to Fonseca’s definition of intellective truth within the doctrinal topography of the Aristotelian tradition. The Author especially points out Fonseca’s attempt to justify the notion of a “simple” truth (...) of the “simple apprehension”, based on a specific use of Cajetan’s distinction between “signified act” and “exercised act” as well as on a (partially) nominalist account of the relationship between “simple” and “enunciative” concepts. The second part deals instead with Fonseca’s definition of transcendental truth, understood as the conformity between the intellect and the esse realis of the res, and as the conformity of the latter with exemplars in God’s mind. Here the Author also reconstructs Fonseca’s theory of divine ideas and his theory of logical identities. (shrink)
